BIGGEST SCAM EVER
on February 21st i went with my family to Cancun and we stayed in a resort for a week, at the resort Travel smart offered me a membership for 30 years and after we negotiated some terms, I end up paying them $40,000 CAD.
I went online and I was shocked by their reviews so i called to make a reservation ( as a trail) and i found nothing i was told was true, and it turns out that they area scam.
for example I was told my room will cost me (15,00 points + $2050) on reservation they asked for 48,000 point and $7,000 which is more expensive than Expedia w/o membership
I tried to contact them to cancel the membership using the phone number provided and I found that the number doesn't work from Canada, I sent them an email asking to cancel my membership and they contacted me back saying sorry it was a mistake/misunderstanding and they will fix it and they refused to cancel the membership, saying that I signed the contract and it's a done deal.
What happened with me is exactly what I read on the reviews online,
I called TD visa to dispute charges
I was misled by them and they won't cancel the membership. Iam also surprised that SunEings and Royalton are affiliated with them.
I am planning to make an online campaign to make public aware of what these people do and not to fall in such a stupid mistake like the one I did.
I am also contacting a lawyer in Mexico, she is willing to help us with our complaints.

CANCELETTION CONTRACT
Hello,
We sent an email on 08.09.2018 (within the period of 5 working days that allow cancel the contract, as is explicit in clause 7 of the contract). Our contract was signed on 05.09 at Royalton Negril.
To this day we have not gotten any response !!! I have the email to prove that we have communicated our intention to CANCEL THE CONTRACT, within the time allowed, so we will proceed with the request for a refund of the money with the Bank!
We follow the procedure that is defined in the contract, as such we will not accept a different response than expected.
Are there more than 32 people receiving customers in the department of only one of the hotels and have no one to respond to an email ?? SCHEME!
We hope you act as professionals and not as a fraud!

What a nightmare - Misguiding and Plain False Promises
Contract #636****. Our situation was similar to those of many already here.
After countless hours of being fed tons of info with a bunch of non-sense terminology made up to sound more attractive than it really is, we declined. Then they asked us to wait a minute. They came back with what was supposed to be a shorter deal. They said it was the SAME as the longer term contract but shorter.
This was a LIE. They also told us that we could cancel at ANY time but would not get a refund for what we had already paid. There was no mention of the five-day window. Another false claim was the refund (in CASH they said) that we would get after buying from our own money the plane tickets for our next vacation.
We called and asked someone on the phone and they said we could not cancel.
Lastly, our down payment was $592, but the charge to our credit card was $791! I will be contacting my Credit Card to file a claim.

Fooled, like everyone else!!!
My wife and I, while we where vacationing in Punta Cana ( June 2017) we stayed at Bahia Principe and were asked to go to the Royalton for a presentation ( we were offered a day trip to a small island and catamaran), When we got there they took us for a tour of the resort,gave us breakfast and then they took us to the room where they conduct their presentations. Although hesitant at first, unfortunately we signed a contract for over 16K and we were given ,like everyone else a "free" 7 day stay to the Royalton in Domenican or Mexico and another one after 2 years .
The stipulation for the first free week was that we had to pay 35% of the contract, in order for us to get our free week. Upon calling them to book my free week,of course they were stalling and they finally got back to me, telling me that I hadn't reached my 35% obligation. My total contract was 16k, I know I paid over 5k till that point and when I called them to question them , to my surprise they told me that your monthly payment, so much of it goes towards the principle and so much towards the interest, what is this a *** mortgage? Nothing like that was explained to us.
We reached out to the person ( we had his contact name Kenny G) and asked him to provide us with the manager's email address which he provided (Milagros *** have send at least 2 emails ( more than 2 months now), no one has replied. We called the individual and since my wife speaks Spanish we expressed our dissatisfaction with their company and he assured us that we should give their company a chance and not to believe the reviews we see on line. We asked him again and he assured us that we would get a minimum 15% off ( the lowest price) by using our points if we traveled to Cuba and 30% off elsewhere,plus the perks of been VIP (with the exception of Cuba which we knew). So I figured I will give them a try, called their line and asked the girl ( her name was Veronica) gave her my choices of resorts that I liked in Mexico and after a couple of minutes she told us that it's only 15% and was a standard room ( where are the perks???) and get this, I asked her to look into this and get back to us and SURPRISE , we're still waiting.
I got so pissed that I ended up booking my own trip to Cuba with my wife which we enjoyed and I could have enjoyed another 3 trips like this one with the money Travel Smart took from us. I need to know what do I have to do to cancel this and get my money back, before I seek legal advise.

we went to the 2 hours presentation and was given a 4 nights voucher for myself and my husband and we have a planned trip coming up for june 2018 and i have called and emailed them on numerous ocassions, first problem is that the number they give to activate the voucher doesnt work then they try giving you an extention number that the system never ask for and every time you call its the same silly story then if you ask to speak with a supervisor they claim there is no way for them to transfer you. i think they are nothing but a scam and i am sooo happy i didnt buy into their bull...i hope some way some how someone will take them down so they can stop lying and trying to go around people

I was contacted by travel Smart and they have made everything better. They have gained back my loyalty and restored my faith in the company.
I contacted Travel Smart to reconfirm and pay for my transfer. I was told everything was good. I then receive an email the next day stating they require payment to confirm reservation. I replied and said I believed I already paid but if there was an issue to let me know how to rectify it.
I didn't get a response until the next day when I called and they told me my room was gone and that the resort was now full and the only room I could get was around $500 more! I already booked my non-refundable flights as I received the confirmation. I spoke to about 5 different reservation specialists over the course of 5 days and not one would ever transfer me to a manager that could make a decision. Never have I ever had such horrible customer service.
I will definitely be sharing this experience all over social media and every time I go to a resort I will tell everyone to NOT buy with travelsmart. Travel smart has lost my respect and I have referred a handful of people to their program. I will no longer refer or speak highly of them. How can I receive a confirmation for my vacation to theb be told it is not available and I can only pay more money for a more expensive room!

Can’t Redeem Certificate
Was given 4 night free stay at one of the other resorts. Well too bad I can’t talk to anyone or will anyone contact me back.
I’m with everyone else if you aren’t a member already then forget about redeeming your cert because the only person I can talk to is a rep that only services existing members.
Knew it was too good to be true. I will book my vacation somewhere else and it sure will not be with the Royalton underhanded selves!!!

We went to Punta Cana and got swindled by this company. A lot of the information that they gave us about being able to travel and stay at a resort while making monthly payments of 505.00 a month is bull.
Every time we call they can not give us a direct response. If anyone out there has gone through this situation please advise as what to do. We have given them too much money as it is and refuse to give any more.
Can they be taken to court, file a complaint with the better business bureau, consumer affairs? How can we stop these people from manipulating others to make this type of purchase?

Online booking does not work
Cannot book vacation online because website says I have outstanding balance but all monthly and yearly dues are paid up in full. This mystery amount and of money keeps changing.
This has been going on for 8 months with no resolution and many unanswered emails. Then when I was gone to reserve they do not speak English and hang up.

I wish I have seen a post like this when I bought their "membership". I bought mine on the 23rd failing for the diamond club experience, also my Dominican agent said he hasn't made a sale in two month and if I sign up he will get $500 and I can cancel afterwards.
I came home to Toronto and did some calculation, realize it's much more expensive to maintain this membership than just go online and book with Sunwing directly unless you stay 3 months down south the saving might just match the fee you paid upfront. plus, it's a lot more time-consuming process. now you have to go through Travel Smart designated line to book which you will end up holding for an hour. I have requested to cancel on the 25th.
only got an email back asking how they can improve and retain me as a member. I should have NOT gone through with it when at the end of the signing I realize that I can only get a small portion of that $2600 dollars that I paid back. I will keep you posted with the outcome. I hope no one else make this mistake i did.

This matter has been ongoing over a year waiting for calls an email The service from Travelsmart is absolutely terrible! I do not expect to be treated so badly when they are holding on to over $13 000$ of my hard earned money!
This is unacceptable! mis-selling, misrepresentation, breach of contract and theft. We paid for both of our agreements in full. Therefore their retention of our points is illegal, it is theft.
We feel disrespected, hence why we are cutting all ties with Travelsmart. It is not worth the aggravation and stress. I am disgusted at the way we have been treated! EVERYTIME we deal with Travelsmart there is an issue!

Hi there, we were also scammed by this company. They pile you with booze, lie to you, tell you what you want to hear and then distract you when you are signing the papers.
I'm also in the process of trying to get my money back, so far we've spend almost $6000 and if we want to use the vacation package we'd have to pay $7,000 for a 7 day stay at Royalton Punta Cana. We can't afford this vacation package.
They lied to us and took advantage of us and instead of saying sorry, they try to change the vacation package to something else. So if they can change it even though you signed why can't they just cancel it and give you your money back.
I worked for travel smart .... and left the job when I realised it was a scam ... no surprise that they are now refusing to pay me my commissions for past sales....

But they showed me a paper that said my penalty for discontinuing was almost 10,000$, after I signed in. After all, the VIP was supposed to be VIP and one had a hard time even getting a meal reservations, without some type diamond club, etc., without it. The room I was initially given, was fine for me, but would probably be objectionable to many. Thus I signed into travelsmart with the 3 pina colatas, knowing that it would not be for economic reasons, but for VIP service.
What a joke. Poor service by poor phone contact, poor rooms, poor vacation times accessible for points available, 50 times the stress getting the trip planned and slavery for travel for 15 or 30 years. The real kicker for people paying up front, is that extra fees can be charged at will (resort hurricane, etc, fees as a example). Look under B.
Special Assessments in club rules. This is not VIP; just too much stress, even if one can afford the exorbitant cost. Got out of the slavery by focusing on the almost $10,000 form they showed me. I have my life back; sorry you signed up; they will do almost anything to get you under their bondage.
Also Sunwing, never again. After Cancun Royalton, my passports even, are not renewed; what a kick in the head.

Imagine offering a senior citizen a 30 year program for $50,000 American dollars, when the travelsmart VIP is not worth taking even if the Sunwing Travel Group hotels, offered to pay me money to sign up. TravelSmart VIP brings despair, so much so, that I will not renew my Canadian passports and feel disappointed that I ever flew Sunwing airlines.
