Travelsmart kept their word and refunded me all the money they had initially kept for cancelling.

We were enjoying a week at the Royalton Cancun, we had paid for the diamond club service and were very impressed. That is until asked to attend a membership sales pitch in exchange for $100 off our room charges. They promised the pitch would take 1 1/2 hours maximum. Seven hours later we were persuaded to sign as we thought we could have two luxury weeks a year at a Royalton Hotel for no more money then we actually budget for holidays per year. In reality, those two weeks may have cost us more and we may or may not have received upgraded rooms. On top of normal holiday costs accommodation and flights they wanted us to shell out £16,500. It was so vague as to what we were actually purchasing we decided to cancel 24 hours after signing. They made it very difficult for us, keeping us in a room for ages despite me repeatedly saying we were leaving that day and needed to sort the room out and get to the airport. We received no further information to explain what we were purchasing just the option to purchase one week instead of two per year for more than half the two week cost. I pleaded to the guy that i just wanted to cancel & go home to England. Eventually he left and someone came in to tell us we would have to pay $650 admin fees plus 15% of the deposit we had put down, around another $600. Daylight robbery! We only signed 24 hours before, we hadn't used anything and still they took all this money off us. Our holiday for my partners birthday was ruined.

Not sure what you agreed to sign as far as confirmation of cancelation ....but whatever garbage that was... I suggest emailing the vp of Sunwing airlines - owners of the Royalton brand . Not sure if they would be happy to know that their hard earned goodwill and elite brand is having their name sullied by these sales practices.

Travel Smart is a complete SCAM!!!!! Be aware this company will try to feed alcohol and hold you hostage... Till you sign up for there scam program. We said no several times while they wasted our vacation time. We were exhausted and under the influence when we signed. They wear you down until your only option is to do the damn thing and then they rip you off. After paying so much for your membership and your points you up paying the same amount of money if you book a trip with Expedia and any other company. The flybacks are only good if you travel to the Royalton resorts only. This was not told to us when we bought the membership. IT IS JUST A BIG SCAM DO NOT GIVE INTO THIS GARBAGE MEMBERSHIP.

I asked for cancellation after I signed the contract 1 day. But the sale representative said your contract is a resale contract cannot get refund.

The Agreement that I signed said I have 5 days to cancel. It’s not said that this is a resale contract cannot get refund.
I called to confirm my cancellation. The representative said that It’s already in the system and customer call to confirm. She said that I will get the full refund because I cancel within 5 days and someone will contact me back.

But no....

the sale representative still contact me to keep the membership because if I cancel, I cannot get the refund. Does anyone know about a RESALE contract?????

We have been customers of Travelsmart since 2015, when we went to Royalton Punta Cana for vacation and during our time, were presented with a “great” option to continue vacationing within the Royalton chain of resorts. We have traveled with our membership 4 times with our 5th trip scheduled for next month, and have LITERALLY had an issue when booking every trip!! Our issues started on our first trip, when we found out we purchased a package that gave us stays in rooms far less the quality of the room presented in the sales pitch and were told the package we purchased would only affect the amount of yearly vacations we could go on. Moving forward we knew to request specific rooms and pay more/utilize “special or bonus” weeks in order to compensate the difference incurred with the upgraded rooms, however on our 2 previous trips we had to have our room changed at arrival, after being put in a room different than what was promised by the agent! We have tried to communicate or issues with the customer service agents at the call center, which has proven to not work and have not been able to get a manager on the phone at ANY point!! From a person who has booked travel through various channels, I can tell you, WITHOUT a doubt, there are better deals to be found via online websites or travel agents vs the “member price” and I am yet to have any issue on a level near the ones I continue to experience with TS!! Unfortunately for us, we paid a good chunk of money to tie ourselves to this company for a 15 year period, and hope I can save at least one person the headaches me and my family have experienced by posting this review!! If you really want a vacation membership, do some research prior to purchase, there are some GREAT ones out there, this just isn’t omen of them!!

I provided my email for your response with the review. This is one more instance where I feel there is a lack of care for your customer, as now I have to reach out to your company again, in hope of resolution......

It’d be nice to speak with a manager when you call in to the 800# vs being told no one is available and then once you proceed to the internet to write a review, now all of a sudden my issue is your concern. This company lacks any sort of customer service skills or ability to perform at an acceptable level for the money they steal from good people.

We sign the paperwork on 17 July 2019 around 5pm. I emailed them to cancel my contract with immediate effect and return my money from the Punta Cana airport after reading online reviews on 22 July 2019.

They are now saying 6days were gone and I m telling them 5 days. I...

It looks like you live in Canada. As such, I am finalizing a lawsuit against all the companies involved and their parent company (Sunwing Travel Group) which is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, along with their Directors personally as they are vicariously liable for the fraudulent actions of their employees and we will have a Judge here in Canada lift the various corporate veils and jurisdiction issues so that we can get judgment personally against their founders here in Canada, Colin Paul Hunter and Stephen Hunter (current President), who are both Canadian residents. Travelsmart is the biggest SCAM there is they scamed us out of $6000 was unable to use any free weekend because it's not free... tried to cancel but they only offer other packages they will not let you out ...they are fliers and scammers...if I every get back to the royalton punta cana ...I plan to go with a lawyer they will hear it .....please people if you see them run ....I used to love Punta cana I was planning to go back every year now I just warn people to stay away THEY ARE THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS

On the tour, they explain that is optional and that you to pay 2000 to register flyback, but how you say is a choice! But not that the only issue, They show us a number and now when we try to make a reservation is another amount, Double price from the market, for that reason we canceled and need a refund if we going to have done legal action, Many people contact me to do a group and fight for our rights, I just hold that before taking action, because I believe don't need to go that far and we can get a friendly agreement,

My husband and I are travelsmart members who bought a $40k membership. Somehow all of our personal and private information has mysteriously gotten into the hands of scammers and we are now out $28k and cannot use our membership.

TS will say like they’ve told you, call the number listed on their website which nobody can help you there.

I suggest getting in touch with the corporate office at Sunwing for some help. Best of luck to you- travelsmart has been horrible to deal with.

Terrible Service

We signed up for Travel Smart VIP and advised the sales people at the time that I'm getting an assistance dog and asked if this would be an issue, the sales person spoke to the sales director who assured me that it wouldn't be. However when I got back to the UK I got in touch with TUI and the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) who advised against traveling such a long distance with an assistance dog as there is no contingency for a dog being on the plane with me for such a long time. I have tried to cancel my membership due to the reason above, but they have stated I cant and if I didn't pay the monthly charge then this will effect my credit rating etc. Can someone please get in touch and help me resolve this issue.

I finally received a call back from TravelSmart after bombarding them with emails and posts on social media. They liaised with Flyback who finally saw sense and agreed to honour the contract.

We are supposed to get $500 back via their flyback scheme via a contract which we entered into a year ago.
Flyback have said although our contracts were signed on 27 September 2018, TravelSmart didn’t activate our flyback until 9 October 2018, therefore they are refusing to reimburse us. They are penalising us for the omissions of TravelSmart!
I have now sent six emails to both flyback and TravelSmart and TravelSmart have just ignored me.

I will be cancelling my membership and seeking full reimbursement.
The service has been terrible and this has been a very distressing time for me and my family.

We even emailed flyback before we booked our flights to confirm we’d be reimbursed, we are now out of pocket to the tune of $1500!
DO NOT PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP! You will be ignored and you stand to lose thousands!

1) Elevator not working 3 years in a row during my stay at Royalton Blue Waters 2) Nosey Kids all night next to our rooms 3) Room was changed to a room with dirty walls, dirty bed skirt, old flat pillows, dip in the mattress. I call Travel Smart to only hear we apologize. I have 4 more years to pay for club fees via contract and I am FURIOUS NO COMPENSATION AFTER SPENDING OVER $2100 FOR 5 DAYS... PLUS ANNUEL MEMBER DUES.. $299.....PLUS OVER 1,800.00 MONTHLY PAYMENT FOR THE CONTRACT

Correction - it should not have said Mexican Law but it should be Dominican Republic. VIP asked for my phone number to discuss issues multiple times. I have given my phone number multiple times to call with the last email giving out again on July 26, 2019 and I still...

Fraud - Buyer Beware. I signed up in August 2018 at Royalton Punta Cana.
It was at least 3 hours instead of 90 minutes, and it sounds really good at the time.

However, they misrepresented how the points were used during the sales pitch (never told the points vary by season and by room type), as well as how much the all-inclusive fee can be ( I was told $299-499 per person per trip, when that can be per DAY). In the long run, it would not be the money saver they claimed. The contract stated that I have 5 calendar days to cancel, when by Mexican Law, it is 5 business days.
I sent my cancellation within that period, and so far they have refused to cancel. I made a formal complaint with the credit card company and Travelsmart refused to refund themselves or with the credit card complaint.

It's a shame, because the hotel was really great, but this experience has been such a headache that it sours the whole memory and time spent.
I'm still waiting for a response from them after they said they would try to make things right with the vacation, but when I ask about getting my money back there is no response until I post something on a public forum that is negative. They just asked for my info to look responsive, but then didn't do anything with it.
